Accardi award
International journalism Award Claudio Accardi
The "international journalism Award Claudio Accardi " was set up to provide financial assistance to young people who report on war, thus promoting an understanding of the dynamics of war, the political choices of those involved and the repercussions of war on civilian communities. It is an annual award.
A money prize is awarded to three young peoples, that the jury has considered worthy, to support their commitment and research to their careers through enabling them to pursue “in the field” new experiences and research.
The journalism award is open to young journalists, also free-lancers, aspiring journalists, students enrolled in journalism schools, university students and school students. They must present one piece of work.
Since the purpose of the award is to promote those willing to be involved in recounting the effects of wars on civilian societies, the works presented should concern this subject.
The meaning of war being, both, that fought militarily and that fought by individuals or groups struggling against racial discrimination, poverty, social exclusion, and illness.
The deadline for the presentation of work is 10th September, each year.
The awarding of the prizes is in Rome in the first half of December.
